Every investigation starts with a conflicts check and a free scoping call, and you get the scope and fee in writing before any work begins. The quote and the engagement agreement are one document, so there are no surprises. From there, I agree on an investigation plan with you, conduct interviews promptly and fairly, and deliver findings in the format we chose together at the outset. What the company does with those findings stays your decision. The investigation itself is fact-finding, not advocacy.
